Griefers in the Desert – My Battle for Resources in Dune: Awakening
If you’ve played Dune: Awakening lately, you’ve probably had one of two experiences in the Deep Desert: either you’re the hunter... or the hunted.
As a mid-level player trying to grind Tier 6 materials, griefers made my life hell. These aren’t just PvP players—they’re high-tier gangs who camp spawn zones, loot transporters, and attack outnumbered squads. It’s frustrating, but Funcom has been working hard to address it Dune Awakening Items.
The new PvE zones in the Deep Desert changed the game. Now, there’s more incentive to explore non-PvP regions—especially with increased resource yields. While it hasn’t eliminated griefing entirely (they still show up occasionally), it’s no longer a guaranteed death sentence every time I leave my base.
I’ve had some amazing moments recently: ambushing a ganker who underestimated my stealth build, working with randoms to defend a convoy, and even recovering a downed ornithopter full of loot. These moments of tactical gameplay wouldn’t have been possible without the balance tweaks buy Dune Awakening Solari.
The endgame still needs work, but I’m encouraged. Funcom is slowly turning Dune: Awakening into a game where strategy matters more than brute force.
